Which Borough of New York Has the Best Pizza?
Whether the pizzeria sticks to old-world recipes or adheres to the New York-style thin crust tradition, we’ve considered each restaurant on its own merits to bring you this guide.
Bronx
· Zero Otto Nove: Southern-Style Italian pizza
This pizzeria is located on Arthur Ave where it intersects with 186th. They focus on southern Italian pizza and cuisine and are open Tuesday through Sunday during lunch and dinner.
· Louie & Ernie’s Pizza: Classic New York style thin crust pies
This Bronx staple has been serving the borough since 1959. You can find them on the southeast corner of the intersection of Crosby and Waterbury.
· Full Moon Pizza: Sicilian-style pizza
You can find Full Moon at the intersection of Arthur and 187th Street, just down the street from Zero Otto Nove. Full Moon serves Sicilian-style Italian cuisine in a traditional setting.
Brooklyn
· Di Fara: Old-Country Neapolitan Pies
Di Fara is a legendary Brooklyn spot, notable because its original founder Dom still made every pie himself until he tragically passed in 2022. You can find them in Brooklyn on Avenue J and East 15th Street.
· L&B Spumoni Gardens: Square-sliced Neapolitan-style pizza
Open since the 1950s, there are two locations in Brooklyn: one under the Brooklyn Bridge off of Old Fulton Street, and one in the southern part of the borough between 86th and W 10th Streets.
